U. S. Department of Education Applauds Frederick Douglass High School Turnaround

On Tuesday, February 12, Deb Delisle, Assistant Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education and a team of individuals from the U.S. Department of Education, representatives from the Maryland State Department of Education, the Baltimore City Public School System, Ed Works (FDHS Turnaround Partner), and Frederick Douglass High School administrators, students, staff and alumni made the rounds at the school to learn what it takes to improve schools.

Ms. Delisle said “I’m just totally inspired.  It’s so great to come to a school where people truly care about students and they really set high standards and they believe in their kids, and that’s what so important.”
